I saw the dead stand and be judged by the book, and I saw a new land.

The final days of the living...

- Samuel

(3'3'', 26lbs) A pale, almost frail looking Halfling shrouded in black leather and dark flowing clerical vestments, bearing an solemn gaze framed by raven locks. A pale scar, pale against pale, scathes his cheek, inflicted by some bestial talon.

I remember it well, my first brush with Death's cold grasp. Before I was even born to life I was touched by the Lord of Darkon, Death. From my mother's cold dead belly I was torn free to breath my first taste of air, a beginning of new life even as I glimpsed the final darkness of the end. The Ministers of the Eternal Order, having defeated the undead minions of Death too late to save my family, managed some how to preserve some spark of life within my fragile body and raised me within their temple. I needed no encouragement to join their ranks as a Minister, I still remember Death's hand snuffing the life of my family, my mother and myself. I relive the memories every night in my dreams... my nightmares. I knew death before I knew life and had been spared for some reason. To keep Death from inflicting itself upon others? Perhaps. My answers lie within the Order and I did finally become a Minister to further my studies of Death. The congregation of the faithful is dwindling, but I feel no bitterness towards them who blissfully enjoy life in ignorance, staving off Death's return is my duty and I shall continue to protect the ignorant and innocent even if they do not appreciate it. Those who do not aid the Eternal Order and cannot even enjoy the life they have been gifted with are useless and would be better off sacrificed to Death's eternal hunger. Now I come to this strange city of Rookhausen, glimpsed in another nightmare, guided by visions of Death's skeletal fist attempting to crush it. I must rebuild the faith within this city of the dammed before all is lost and the dread Hour of Ascension comes at long last to drown the living in oceans of death and blood. I alone must bring salvation to Rookhausen.
