Deagu

Deagu is the third largest city in South Korea (or so I am told) although Incheon is quickly growing so that it might take this position over and bump Deagu down to fourth. Regardless, Deagu holds about the same amount of people as Toronto (but is not as large) and is the largest city I have ever been in as well as the only real city I have ever lived in. I lived in the neighborhood of Sam-duk which is right downtown, the heart of the city. I loved it there, it is a great city, lots to do (too much, I was trying to save money after all) and safe. I felt safe walking downtown at 2 in the morning. Everyone is friendly, there is a lot of english so it isn't impossible or even too awfully difficult to get by day to day life without knowing any Korean. I am glad that I ended up in Deagu, anywhere else would have been too big or too small. If you would like to learn more about Deagu, then I invite you to click HERE to go to their ever expanding city tour website which is offered in english. Below I have a few choice pics of the city of Deagu, which I called home for a year. Click on the thumbnails to get the full pics.
