Gatbawi
The usual work week was 6 days a week with an early day on Saturday and Sunday off, however once a month there is a long 3 day weekend. Me and Jeff tried to use these long weekends to see some of the beauty that is Korea. On our second long weekend (we didn't have any money on our first so we didn't go anywhere) we traveled to the Palgongsan Mountains north of Daegu. We climbed up the to the peak of Mt. Gwanbong to the temple of Gatbawi. Perhaps because of the fact that this was my very first trip out of the city in Korea or that me and Jeff went on our own without any help (other than some bus advice from a info-booth) or that Gatbawi is more temple/pilgrimage than tourist area or a combo of them all, Gatbawi remains my favorite weekend trip of my entire stay in Korea.
These are the pictures taken of the temples along the way, the Buddha Statue at the peak and the amazing views we enjoyed, click on the thumbnails to view the full picture.
