Poetry In Motion
It is a daily contest at Poetry.Com that involves placing a number of tyles (words, parts of words, letters, etc) together to form a poem. It is every day and there is a $100 prize given away for one poem each day. Back in 1999, while I was at STFX, I played around with it for a while, then I got serious about it for a few months, every day. I only won once, but $100 is pretty sweet and it was good as a writing excersize. In the fall of 2008, when I was working on my Practicum (to gain my Education Degree) at Maple Grove Junior High, I got back into the PIM contest when inspired by several students who started playing around with it in my English class. Unfortunately the PIM contest is not as good as before, it is now only a $100 gift certificate to their own website, but it is still a great writing excersize and is fun.
